How and when did the I LOVE MY HOOD campaign attract your attention and how did you get in contact?
When Jase added me on facebook,
How do you contribute to the I LOVE MY HOOD campaign?
By making t-shirt designs and promoting it with my graffiti.
Tell us something about your passion / art? What makes you different or what is characterizing you?
I started painting graffiti when i was 12, just getting up on the streets and looking for new thrills.
At first i just painted letters, when i thought i’d mastered this i went on with characters, logo’s & lettering.
After 4 years of painting i did my first commission job at a local festival. from then on i started looking for more, it was fun to do and i could earn some money with my passion.
That’s when we desided to start aerosolkids, a group of street artists with the same passion. Today we still do what we do best and our name has grown and keeps on growing…
What do you want to achieve with this co-operation?
Same as with my graffiti, get up, find jobs, meet people…
Designing streetwear is something a wanted to do for a long time. So i’m glad i got the chance to improve my skills on this medium too. With this co-orporation i hope to bring i love my hood to belgium and maybe do some artshows with sketches and designs..
What was your latest release / your latest action?
My latest action was today, we did a big wall with the crew.
We’ll have to go finsih tomorow, i’ll send you the pictures too
What’s the local situation in your city / area?
The city is bombed, but the people don’t realy apreciate graffiti art. We have to hustle to get the spots we want to paint. But we got good connections with youth centers and organisations that do alot for young people…
Can you express yourself and live out your art there?
We fixed a few spots that are now legal graffiti zones. So we can paint when ever we want but you allways gotta cross someone elses work.
What should or could be improved?
More legal spots to paint!! The best spot we had is now illegal. It was in the center of town, a great place where graffers could meet and change ideas or just smoke a fat spliff
